Archaeologists have made a significant discovery in La Almadraba near Alicante, uncovering the remains of a Roman villa associated with the ancient city of Lucentum, the precursor to modern Alicante.
During a redevelopment project in La Almadraba, archaeologists uncovered a Roman villa linked to the ancient city.
The site revealed well preserved structures, coinage and ceramics from the third century B.C. to the fourth century A.D.
Alicante’s Mayor, Luis Barcala, announced plans for the area to become an outdoor museum, allowing residents and visitors to appreciate the history of Lucentum.
