New evidence has been published which suggests former PP Minister of Finance Cristóbal Montoro may have influenced tax policies benefiting gas companies during his tenure.

The details were released as part of an ongoing investigation into numerous financial transactions between Montoro’s economic consultancy and these firms.

The alleged actions reportedly cost public finances millions in lost revenue.

The inquiry continues as details emerge regarding Montoro’s relationships with key industry figures.

Speaking at the weekend, PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo said there should be no difference in corruption investigations depending on the suspects political affiliation.
