Three people have died, and fifteen have been injured in several sea-related incidents across Tenerife.
The first incident occurred at Roque de Las Bodegas beach in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where six French tourists fell into the water due to a large wave.
They had to be airlifted to safety with one being treated for serious injuries.
Later, a man was found dead at El Cabezo beach, south of the island.
Lifeguards attempted resuscitation measures, but the man was confirmed dead on the scene.
Further incidents unfolded at Puerto de la Cruz, where a number of people were swept into the water, leading to another unsuccessful resuscitation attempt for a woman, and several others were hospitalised with a variety of injuries.
A fisherman also tragically lost his life in A Coruña after falling into the sea at O Portiño.
Local reports indicate that he was swept away by a wave while fishing among the rocks.
