Spain’s Gender Pension Gap Costs Economy Billions and Jobs

A new report from ClosinGap reveals that the gender pension gap costs Spain thirty billion euros, equivalent to one point eight percent of GDP, and translates to five hundred thousand fewer jobs.

Women earn significantly less in pensions, with an average of one thousand one hundred euros compared to men’s one thousand six hundred euros.

The findings, presented alongside insurance company Mapfre, reveal that while the gender gap in pensions has narrowed, it remains significant.
