Ryanair has announced a reduction of one million passenger seats for next winter in Spain due to a six point five percent fee increase by airport operator Aena.
The airline labels the hike as shameless, and could lead to the closure of Valladolid and Jerez airports.
In response Aena said it defends the fee as justified and plans to meet with Ryanair’s chairman, highlighting ongoing tensions.
The Irish carrier is facing a number of challenges in the country, with ongoing industrial action by baggage handlers also impacting on flights.
