Authorities have arrested a twenty-five-year-old Brazilian national accused of leading the GXC Team, a major cybercrime operation selling phishing kits and malware.
The suspect, known as GoogleXcoder, was detained after a year-long investigation.
This operation has reportedly caused millions of euros in losses worldwide.
Investigators noted that the tools provided by the GXC Team were utilised in attacks directed at banks, transportation companies, and e-commerce platforms not just in Spain, but also in Brazil, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
